Carpet Questions
Is carpet a bad idea with dogs and kids?
Not anymore. Today’s stain-resistant carpets shrug off most spills and pet accidents, and carpet actually traps dust and allergens until you vacuum them up. And when we install yours, we haul the old carpet out — you don’t touch it.
Where does carpet still make the most sense?
Bedrooms and living rooms. It’s warmer, quieter, and softer underfoot — the rooms where you actually kick your shoes off.
How long does carpet last?
Most carpet lasts 5–15 years, depending on traffic and how it’s cared for. A busy hallway wears faster than a guest bedroom — we’ll tell you honestly which styles hold up.
Will it wrinkle?
Not when it’s installed right. We power-stretch every install — pulled tight the way the warranty requires — so it stays flat instead of rippling a year later.
How much does it cost to install?
It depends on the carpet, the pad, and your rooms — so we don’t guess. Book a free in-home estimate and you get one honest, all-in price before we start, with no surprises after.
Tile Questions
Where does tile make sense?
Bathrooms, kitchens, entryways, and laundry rooms — anywhere water, mud, or heavy traffic shows up. It’s the floor you never have to worry about.
Is tile waterproof?
The tile itself is, yes. Grout is the honest exception — it’s porous, so it needs sealing to keep water and stains out. We’ll walk you through that before we leave.
Is tile cold and hard underfoot?
Honestly, yes — that’s the trade-off for how tough it is. A rug softens it right up, and heated-floor options exist if you want warm tile in a bathroom.
How long does tile installation take?
Plan on several days, not one. Setting, grouting, and curing all take the time they take — rushing it is how tile jobs fail, so we don’t.
How long does tile last?
50 years or more when it’s installed right. Tile is the longest-lasting floor we sell — pick a look you truly like, because you’ll be living with it a long time.
Vinyl (LVP) Questions
Why choose vinyl?
It looks like real wood or stone, handles water and daily wear, and never needs refinishing. For most busy Oklahoma City homes, it’s simply the easiest floor to live on.
Where can you put vinyl?
Just about anywhere — kitchens, bathrooms, laundry rooms, basements, and right over most concrete slabs. If a room gets wet or dirty, vinyl is usually the safe pick.
Is it waterproof or just water-resistant?
The luxury vinyl we sell is truly waterproof — the plank itself won’t swell or buckle from standing water. Spills, splashes, and pet accidents sit on top until you wipe them up.
Is it pet-proof?
Pretty close. Claws, accidents, and tipped-over water bowls are exactly what it’s built for — and the thicker the wear layer, the tougher it is against scratches.
How long does it last, and how do I clean it?
Expect 10–25 years depending on the wear layer and traffic. Cleaning is simple: sweep often and damp-mop — no wax, no special cleaners.
Laminate Questions
Is laminate waterproof?
No — and we’ll never tell you it is. Good laminate is water-resistant, so everyday spills are fine if you wipe them up promptly, but standing water will get into the seams. Keep it out of bathrooms.
Is laminate good with kids and dogs?
For scratches, it’s one of the best — the wear layer is seriously tough. Just keep nails trimmed, put a mat under the water bowl, and wipe up puddles so they don’t sit.
Where can laminate go?
Living rooms, bedrooms, and hallways are its sweet spot, and it goes over most subfloors. Dry rooms are where it shines.
How long does laminate last?
10–25 years is typical, depending on quality and traffic. Take care of the surface and keep water off it, and it’ll earn every one of those years.
How do I clean laminate?
Sweep or dust-mop often, and use a damp mop — never a soaking-wet one. Too much water is laminate’s one real enemy, so wring that mop out.
